BEIJING -- China's pork prices logged a week-on-week increase during the week from Sept 25 to 28, official data showed.
The average price of pork in 16 provincial-level regions tracked by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs came in at 21.22 yuan ($2.96) per kilogram, up 0.5 percent from the previous week.
This figure also marked a 32.5 percent drop from the same period last year, according to the ministry.
Pork demand rose during the period, boosted by the National Day holiday and the Mid-Autumn Festival, leading to higher pork prices, according to the ministry.
