Chinese tech company Meitu Inc, which is known for its popular image-editing app and content sharing software, unveiled its latest artificial intelligence-powered visual large model called MiracleVision 3.0 on Monday, as it is banking on the fast-growing AI-generated content segment.

The model will be fully integrated into all imaging and design products of Meitu, with a wide range of application in fields including e-commerce, advertisement, gaming, animation, film and television, the company said.

Wu Xinhong, founder, chairman and CEO of Meitu, said the combination of AI model with image productivity tools will lower the threshold of content creation and improve the production efficiency of the imaging industry to let more people enjoy the dividends brought by AI.

He noted that AI could create unique and original paintings through fully learning different painting styles and techniques.

Currently, the use of AI visual model is still in a phase of initial exploration, Wu said, adding the large-scale application of such technology might happen between 2026 and 2030.

In June, Meitu rolled out a string of AI tools covering visual creation, commercial photography, professional video editing and commercial design.

The company generated 1.26 billion yuan ($172.8 million) in revenue in the first half of the year, an increase of 29.8 percent year-on-year. Its adjusted net profit reached 151 million yuan in the first six months, up 320.4 percent year-on-year.
