In the heartland of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, as the harvest season unfolds, the modern agricultural demonstration field in Fujin city, Heilongjiang, is buzzing with activity.

At the forefront of this agricultural hub, 23-year-old Wang Guotai and three other meteorologists take charge of the agricultural meteorological services, including daily weather monitoring and forecasting.

Their routine involves conducting meteorological observations, regularly collecting samples and maintaining equipment in the vast expanse of the demonstration field. Based on the information they collect, a database is built.

They also ensure regular measurement of soil moisture in the fields, carefully tracking the drought and waterlogging situations to provide timely advice to the relevant departments and farmers.

Through observation, they record the fluctuations in temperature and humidity, try to decode the secrets hidden in the clouds and raindrops, and offer guidance and strategies to mitigate the impact of adverse weather conditions.

As the sun set on the horizon, Wang and his colleagues enjoy the fulfillment they found in their chosen profession — protecting the livelihoods of farmers and the blessings of prosperity bestowed by nature.
