Fire at a police facility injures at least 38
A huge fire broke out early on Monday at a police facility in northeastern Egypt, injuring at least 38 people before firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze several hours later, authorities said. The cause of the fire, which ripped through the multistory police headquarters in the Suez Canal city of Ismailia, was not immediately clear. Officials said that 12 of the injured were treated at the site, while 26 others were taken to hospitals.

Millions of ducks to be jabbed against bird flu
France on Monday began Europe's only vaccination campaign against bird flu in ducks, hoping to avoid mass culls of millions of birds that have dearly cost the industry in recent years. The two-jab course for ducklings is obligatory in farms raising more than 250 birds from October.
