Action plan wins public support
Since Pingdu launched a three-year action plan in 2022 to improve the city's environment, local residents have seen their sense of gain, happiness and security increase substantially.
A recent questionnaire survey showed that residents' satisfaction of greening, infrastructure construction and residential community upgrading reached 98 percent, 97 percent and 95 percent respectively. These rates are 11, 15 and 10 percentage points higher than the figures of the 2022 survey.
Locals are especially satisfied with the improvement of their living conditions as the result of large-scale renovations of local urban and rural communities.
Statistics show that renovations have been carried out in 44 rural communities, with about 9,700 houses upgraded or repaired. There are also 26 new settlements, with more than 11,000 apartments in total, in place for relocated rural households.
In the city's urban areas, a total of 154 residential communities have been renovated, benefiting more than 18,000 families.
