Background
In 2022, Pingdu launched a three-year initiative to advance urban construction and create a better environment for residents.
Committed to high-quality urban planning, construction and governance, the city has made remarkable progress in seven areas including the transformation of old towns and villages, improvements to public facilities and transportation infrastructure, demolition of illegal buildings and the construction of a park city.
So far, more than 14.3 kilometers of greenways have been paved, increasing the city's green space by more than 30,000 square meters.
A comprehensive scenic belt has been built along the riverbanks of the Xianhe River in the city, which integrates ecology, leisure, culture and public services.
In addition, Pingdu has implemented renovation projects in 154 old communities, benefiting about 18,000 households.
