YANGON - Sixty-three people were killed and 206 others injured on Myanmar's Yangon-Mandalay highway in the first eight months of 2023, the Nay Pyi Taw Expressway Traffic Police Force said on Monday.
A total of 106 road crashes have occurred on the busiest highway in Myanmar between January and August, causing damage worth 325.87 million kyats (about $155,176), it said.
Human errors such as overspeeding, negligent driving, and drowsy driving are mostly blamed for highway accidents in the country, it added.
