Ministry issues three-year guideline to promote the development of metaverse

China published a three-year guideline on Friday to promote the development of metaverse and widening its use in manufacturing, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The ministry and other four ministry-level departments jointly unveiled the plan, which aims to achieve breakthroughs in metaverse technology, industries, applications, governance, and other fields by 2025.

By then, metaverse will be an important growth point for the digital economy, the ministry said.
