Intercity railway sees marked progress

A 76-kilometer high-speed railway, linking two prefecture-level cities in Anhui province, has witnessed marked progress after box girders on a railway bridge were installed. Builders from China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd have erected 214 40.7-meter box girders on the approach bridge to the mid-river islet in Dangtu county, administered by Maanshan. The Chaohu-Maanshan HSR began construction on Oct 28,2019, and is scheduled to open in 2026.Maanshan, a city straddling both banks of the Yangtze River, borders the provincial capital of Hefei, while Chaohu is a county-level city under Hefei.

Dairy giant Mengniu profit up in first half

Chinese dairy giant Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy (Group) Co Ltd reported an operating profit of 3.27 billion yuan ($455 million) in the first half, up 29.9 percent year-on-year, the company said in its interim report. The company's revenue totaled 51.12 billion yuan, up 7.1 percent. The liquid milk business contributed 41.64 billion yuan in revenue, while the ice cream business earned 4.31 billion yuan.
