TOURISM CONFERENCE
The 2023 China Tourism Conference is set for Sept 2 — 3 in Arxan, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on Monday. Arxan, a city located at the southwestern foot of the Greater Hinggan Mountains and at the intersection of four major grasslands, is an increasingly popular tourist destination. In addition to an opening ceremony, the conference will feature a self-driving tour across the Greater Hinggan Mountains, a forum on cultural tourism integration and green development, an "intangible cultural heritage plus tourism" project exhibition, and other programs.
XINJIANG CULTURE
An intangible cultural heritage exhibition took place in Aksu prefecture, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on Wednesday. The five-day event showcased 330 intangible cultural heritage projects and attracted 383 inheritors from Xinjiang and 19 other provincial-level regions that offer assistance to Xinjiang, said the regional government. The projects included Suzhou embroidery from Jiangsu province and the Twelve Muqam from Xinjiang, the traditional music of the Uygur ethnic group.
LOYALTY PROGRAM

The 2023 Global Luxury Hotels Awards in Greater China concluded on Aug 15. The event brought together industry experts, renowned hoteliers, artists and discerning travelers to honor the finest hotels that consistently exceed expectations. The award-winning hotels have demonstrated exceptional service, outstanding facilities, and unforgettable guest experiences, setting new standards for luxury and hospitality, organizer GCI Group (HK) said.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Regent Beijing has provided much-needed support to flood-affected residents. Two truckloads of drinking water from the hotel were distributed to residents of Mentougou district, the first area to be affected by recent flooding. The move demonstrated "community service" that is part of IHG's commitment. It was also recognized as an excellent example of community service within the hospitality industry by both the Dongcheng culture and tourism bureau and the working committee of the Mentougou government.
HEALTH FORUM
Leading industry human resources experts and practitioners from home and abroad gathered at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong to attend the Beyond Care — 2023 Mercer Marsh Benefits China Health and Benefits Forum. They shared insights into global and local employee health and benefits, and discussed the latest trend on aligning employee care and benefit strategies with the organization's ESG (environmental, social and governance) values and goals.
