Editor's note: Despite strong opposition from home and abroad, Japan began releasing the first batch of nuclear-contaminated wastewater from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the Pacific Ocean today. The move has drawn widespread criticism from the local residents and international community, with many denouncing it "extremely selfish and irresponsible". While condemning Japan's nuclear contamination dumping, China announced it will suspend the import of aquatic products, including edible aquatic animals, originating from Japan starting from Thursday.
