Enhancing investors' sense of gain key to activating capital market

A recent top-level meeting pointed out that China's capital market should be activated to boost investor confidence. The number of individual investors in China exceeds 200 million, and enhancing investors' sense of gain is much needed to activate the capital market.
The sense of gain comes from fairness, justice and transparency of the capital market, given that true, accurate and timely information can help investors make correct investment decisions. The quality of information disclosure directly affects the trading experience of investors, and with the full implementation of the registration system, the importance of information disclosure has become more important.
Problems in the process of information disclosure destroy the principle of fairness and stunt the enthusiasm of investors and their confidence in listed companies. Therefore, the regulatory authorities should improve the relevant system of information disclosure, increase the punishment of illegal cases and guide listed companies to actively do a better job in information disclosure.
Investors' sense of gain comes from a reasonable and predictable return of investment. However, in recent years, the lack of sufficient money-making effects in China's capital market has seriously weakened investors' enthusiasm.
The long-term stability of China's capital market, especially its stock market, requires the introduction of more long-term funds. In addition to providing a better institutional foundation for various medium and long-term funds such as insurance and pension funds to enter the capital market, the authorities should also urge listed companies to actively pay returns to investors through cash dividends, share repurchases and other ways to guide investors to establish a long-term investment mindset.
The authorities should make sustained efforts to deepen the reform of the capital market to boost investors' sense of gain, vigorously promoting the reform of the investment side and coordinating the development of investment and financing to better stimulate the money-making effect of the market and boost investor confidence. The country should take greater steps to expand opening-up, enrich investment products, improve the quality of listed companies, and guide various medium- and long-term funds to increase the actual proportion of equity investment.
