The 33rd Qingdao International Beer Festival, which concluded on Sunday, received 6.17 million visitors and saw the consumption of 2,700 metric tons of beer.
The Golden Beach Beer City in Qingdao West Coast New Area gathered more than 2,000 beer varieties hailing from over 40 different countries and regions, with participation from 379 businesses, according to organizers.
The cultural activities at the festival were diverse, with over 630 performers presenting more than 1,110 shows. These included fashion shows, art exhibitions, concerts and dramas. Advanced light and shadow art, illuminated landscapes, naked-eye 3D videos and fireworks shows were also showcased.
The festival also organized 10 sports competitions throughout its duration, attracting over 6,000 athletes to participate in arm wrestling, boxing, table tennis and street basketball matches.
The festival's grandeur helped revitalize local cultural and tourism sectors, and injected a much-needed boost into the local economy, instilling a renewed sense of consumer confidence.
Taking advantage of the large number of visitors at the beer festival, organizers also organized conferences related to industry, talent, business environment and rural vitalization.
Moreover, the beer festival stimulated consumption in supermarkets, tourist spots, accommodations, and dining establishments throughout the city.
Beer-themed tourism routes were also launched during the festival. These routes encouraged visitors to visit other local attractions such as the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, various coastal beaches, and art galleries.
