Yangtze River port revitalized into community park

But the port gradually fell behind as time went by. Local households and factories discharged sewage directly into the Yangtze River, posing an environmental issue.

To solve the problem, Jingzhou government launched a project to renovate the port and improve the river bank's environment in 2016.

The government financed more than 1.6 billion yuan (about $220 million) to relocate residents and factories and turn the port area into a park.
