Freight traffic expands 7% in first half
China's freight traffic rose nearly 7 percent year-on-year to 25.93 billion metric tons in the first half, data from the Ministry of Transport showed on Monday. During the period, about 19.01 billion tons of road cargo were transported, up 7.5 percent year-on-year.
SOE lifts livelihoods in Shandong
Efforts by State-owned enterprises to support livelihoods are gathering momentum as a community renovation project in Jinan, Shandong province, reported a major milestone. China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp, a unit of State-owned China Railway Construction Corp, said its builders completed capping work for a renovation project in Dongfeng community in Jinan's Laiwu district last week. The project involves construction of 600 housing units in the community, and is labeled as a key livelihood project by the provincial capital government.
