Hongqi launches SUV as part of milestone

Innovation drives a brand forward, while service fuels its progress. As such, FAW Hongqi has adhered to a customer-oriented principle and provided professional services for millions of users.
During a celebration of FAW's 70th anniversary and the 65th anniversary of the Hongqi brand in mid-July, the brand introduced a user program in partnership with State-owned companies.
The program offers a wide range of benefits to Hongqi members, spanning industries and scenarios.
FAW Hongqi presented trophies to 10 honored car owners at the event, including the brand ambassador and actor Jin Dong and Olympic gold medalist Wu Dajing, in recognition of their social responsibilities and contributions.
On July 17, FAW Hongqi launched the HS3 SUV, enriching Hongqi's product lineup. The carmaker provides four variants of the HS3 at prices ranging from 145,800 yuan ($20,285) to 195,800 yuan.
The SUV provides two powertrain options. With a 2.0-liter engine, it has a maximum output of 185 kilowatts and a top torque of 380 Newton meters. Its acceleration from 0-100 kilometers per hour is 6.9 seconds.
The model with a 1.5-liter engine has a maximum output of 124 kW and a top torque of 258 Nm.
The HS3 is 4,655 millimeters in length with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm. With a large panoramic sunroof, the HS3 passengers can enjoy views of the scenery.
The vehicle incorporates top-of-the-line NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) technology, along with more than 30 acoustic packages, resulting in sound insulation and reduced road noise.
Equipped with the self-developed intelligent connected operating system HIS 1.0, the model features senior adaptive cruise control, which allows for easier and more convenient driving control. The 360-degree panoramic imaging system and real-time road condition information provide a comprehensive understanding of the vehicle's surroundings.
Furthermore, the model supports over-the-air technology, enabling real-time updates. This ensures that the vehicle can receive the latest software enhancements and features, improving performance and keeping the user experience up-to-date.
High-strength steel makes up 64 percent of the car body, as well as 17 percent of hot-formed steel.
In addition to its robust structure, the HS3 is crafted with selected safe and environmentally friendly materials throughout, ensuring that the cabin is healthy, eco-friendly and free from unpleasant odors.
