Jeffrey Sachs: US originator of the refugee crisis

Jeffrey Sachs, a world-renowned professor of economics, explained that the root cause of refugees from countries like Syria and Afghanistan lies in the devastating consequences of wars. It is the United States, specifically through its involvement with the CIA, who has contributed to the emergence of these wars, Sachs added.

Rather than debating on whether or not to accept refugees, Jeffrey Sachs called for efforts to "stop the wars that are producing them", which is the only real way to end the refugee crisis.
