Kuaikan builds AIGC platform for Chinese comics creation

Chinese e-comics platform Kuaikan will step up efforts in leveraging artificial intelligence to empower the creation of Chinese-style comics as it ratchets up resources into research and development.
Chen Anni, CEO and founder of Kuaikan, said that despite the current difficulties, the Chinese animation industry is still in an early stage and there are many opportunities. "Kuaikan aims to work together with creators to nurture good content and open up the market," Chen said.
To achieve the goal, Kuaikan aims to leverage new technologies to help create high-quality comic content more efficiently in the market and accelerate the birth of the world-class Chinese comic intellectual properties.
Li Chao, AI technology sharing officer at Kuaikan, said "We believe that AI-generated content, or AIGC, can create industry value from two dimensions: improving user experience and expanding content production capacity."
Kuaikan said the company is now in a new technological stage of building an AIGC capability platform powered by AI large language model and beginning to explore specific implementation paths.
As a technology-driven content-based internet company, Kuaikan said it has invested heavily into research and development. The company has gathered a large number of R&D engineers from tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent, and they are focusing on how to better leverage data and AI technologies to empower the creation of comics.
