China-Europe freight train trips up 16% in H1
China-Europe freight train services grew 16 percent year-on-year to 8,641 trips in the first half of this year, official data from China State Railway Group Co Ltd showed on Thursday. Some 936,000 twenty-foot equivalent units of goods were transported via freight trains, up 30 percent year-on-year. As China's foreign trade remained stable, the company said it increased train capacity, added new routes, offered customized services, and strengthened land port construction during the period to meet robust cross-border transport demand.
Beijing EV maker's Jan-June sales surge
Beijing Electric Vehicle Co, a subsidiary of Beijing Automotive Group Co Ltd and a maker of electric cars, sold 35,191 EVs in the first half of this year, up 107 percent year-on-year. In June alone, the company sold 11,224 EVs, compared to 3,597 EVs sold during the same period last year. However, production reduced, with cumulative production of 4,755 vehicles from January to June, down 21.82 percent, year-on-year.
