Natural gas pipeline put to work
China's first direct natural gas pipeline to Beijing's neighboring Xiong'an New Area in Hebei province started operating on Thursday, said China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network Corp, the nation's largest energy infrastructure owner. The 1,279-kilometer-long pipeline will stretch from North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and passes through Shanxi and Hebei provinces to Tianjin. The first phase that began operations from Tianjin to Dingxing in Hebei province has a total length of 413.5 km.
China raises gasoline, diesel retail prices
China raised the retail prices of gasoline and diesel on Thursday, based on the recent increases in international crude oil prices. Gasoline and diesel prices will be both up by 70 yuan ($9.7) per metric ton, the National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement.
