Commercial vehicle sales soar in May
Sales of commercial vehicles surged 38.2 percent year-on-year in May, industry data showed. A total of 330,000 such vehicles were sold last month in the country, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Meanwhile, production of commercial vehicles jumped 42.9 percent year-on-year in May to 322,000 units, the association said. In the first five months of the year, China's commercial vehicle output rose 14.2 percent to 1.63 million units from the same period in 2022, while sales rose 13.7 percent to 1.62 million units, the data showed.
Bayan oilfield annual output crosses 1m tons
China National Petroleum Corp said on Wednesday that daily crude output at the Bayan oilfield in Inner Mongolia autonomous region has hit 2,780 metric tons, making it the first oilfield in the region to have an annual crude output exceeding 1 million tons. The production capacity of the oilfield is expected to reach 2 million tons each year by the end of 2024. It will become the largest oilfield in Inner Mongolia autonomous region by that time, CNPC said.
