China condemns US sanctions on certain Chinese enterprises, individuals

China opposes the United States placing Chinese enterprises and individuals on its Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List for allegedly supporting Iran's ballistic missile programs, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
The comment came after the US Treasury Department recently sanctioned certain Chinese individuals and entities, accusing them to be in connection with Iran's missile and military programs.
The US approach is ill-informed and lacks due process, which undermines the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and individuals. The US side should abandon its irrational suppression, the ministry said in a statement.
China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the lawful rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and individuals, it added.
