A press conference was held to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the Shunyi Grand Theatre in Beijing on Sunday.
A number of distinguished guests were invited to step onto the theater's stage as the event showcased some remarkable tribute performances by Jingju Theater Company of Beijing and Beijing Symphony Orchestra.
The theatre officially opened its doors to the public on May 30 in 2021.
Over the past two years, the theatre has hosted 141 performances across 84 shows, organized 48 public welfare activities and welcomed over 80,000 audience members, shared Li Zongbao, general manager of China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd.
Li said it has become a prominent cultural landmark and an emblem of Shunyi's vibrant cultural scene.
Wan Zhiyong, general manager of Shunyi Grand Theatre, talked more about the plan to promote the theatre. Wan said its regular performances will continue as usual while new activities like opening day or the exhibition will be launched.
He said the theater will continue its efforts to establish Shunyi as a hub for artistic performances and events, while prioritizing cultural accessibility and public welfare. Over 20 public welfare activities are planned, benefiting more than 10,000 individuals and further enhancing the quality of public cultural services in Beijing's Shunyi district.
