We give prominence to the innovation and application of public security technology, and constantly strengthen the construction of intelligent policing by relying on big data to respond to the new requirements and expectations of the public. The number of criminal cases has declined for nine consecutive years in the jurisdiction, and the people's sense of security has always been at the forefront of the city.

It is our sacred duty to investigate cases and fight crime. In the past three years, my comrades and I have solved more than 3,000 telecom and online fraud cases, and prevented losses of more than 200 million yuan ($28.2 million). In 2023, the number of telecom network fraud cases in Shanghai declined for the fourth consecutive year, which reflects the hard work and dedication of the city's public security police.

I have worked in the explosive-disposal area since I became a police officer 25 years ago and handled about 700 cases related to explosives. Every time I face explosives, I have only one chance to dispose of them. It is impossible not to be nervous when facing these explosives. But what is behind the fortitude and courage of a police officer is the belief that the public's security is supreme. I would like to say to the young officers that as an explosive-disposal officer, from the moment you put on the suit, you should put people first in your heart.
