Jointing work on steel frame finished

China Railway 24 Bureau Group Corp Ltd (CR24), a unit of China Railway Construction Corp, said on Wednesday its builders in Jiangxi province completed the jointing of a steel frame combination of the east station house of Lushan Railway Station and a steel column of the middle platform. With the help of 10 hydraulic numerically controlled jacking frames, the 2,100-ton steel frame combination advanced 26 meters, successfully spanning over the four tracks of Nanchang-Jiujiang intercity railway. The Lushan station aims to be an important transportation hub on the nation's major Beijing-Kowloon railway line. The project's yard has eight platforms and is connected by 25 lines, and both its east and west station houses have been constructed by CRCC.

Shanghai foreign trade up in Jan-Apr

China's economic hub Shanghai posted a steady recovery in foreign trade this year, Customs data showed. In the first four months, the total value of Shanghai's foreign trade reached 1.39 trillion yuan ($198.1 billion), up 13.5 percent year-on-year. Export value stood at 558.65 billion yuan, up 16.3 percent year-on-year, while import value reached 834.57 billion yuan, up 11.6 percent year-on-year.

Ningxia to host wine conference, expo

Ningxia, China's leading wine-producing region, will host a wine-themed international conference and an expo in its capital Yinchuan next month, the event's organizers said. The International Conference on Grape and Wine Industries, as well as the third China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, will be held from June 9 to 10.

Bank supports logistics projects

China Development Bank, one of the country's policy banks, has stepped up financial support for the construction of modern logistics. Since the beginning of the year, the policy bank has issued loans worth 12.2 billion yuan ($1.73 billion) to boost the construction of national logistics hubs and cold chain logistics facilities, among others. The bank pledged financial support to boost the development of modern logistics, focusing on promoting the major projects in key areas, including the national logistics hubs and regional logistics services network, said the bank.
