Tencent reports higher net profit
Tencent's revenue rose 11 percent year-on-year to more than 149.9 billion yuan ($21.4 billion) in the first quarter, according to the Chinese internet giant's financial results. Net profit climbed 27 percent year-on-year to over 32.5 billion yuan in the first three months of 2023.
Fiscal revenue sustains growth
China's fiscal revenue has maintained steady growth momentum in the first four months of 2023, official data showed on Thursday. The country's fiscal revenue expanded 11.9 percent year-on-year to nearly 8.32 trillion yuan ($1.19 trillion) during the period, according to the Ministry of Finance. The increase was partly driven by the country's continued economic recovery.
Jiangsu's foreign trade up 14% in April
Foreign trade in East China's Jiangsu province jumped 14.2 percent year-on-year to about 421.5 billion yuan ($60.4 billion) in April, Nanjing Customs said. While export value touched 280.9 billion yuan, imports reached nearly 140.6 billion yuan. In the first four months, foreign trade totaled 1.62 trillion yuan, data from the Customs in Nanjing, its capital, showed.
