CNOOC energy platform sets record

China National Offshore Oil Corp said it set a new national record on Saturday with the installation of its offshore oil and gas platform in the eastern waters of the South China Sea. CNOOC said it has also filled a gap in domestic technology while further ensuring domestic energy security. The Enping 20-4 platform has been successfully docked with a submarine jacket in the Pearl River Mouth Basin in South China's Guangdong province on Saturday. The docking was completed independently by Chinese companies for the first time, including design, calculation and construction, CNOOC said.
