Drones help overhaul UHV transmission line in Gansu

In May, workers from the Gansu Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Co., Ltd. were seen using heavy-duty UAV transportation tools and electric lifting devices to improve maintenance of the ±800 kV Qilian Mountains-Shaoshan Mountain transmission line.

Accordingly, the Qilian Mountains-Shaoshan Mountain transmission line is the first UHV project in the country to transmit new energy, such as wind and solar power, on a large scale.

By way of Chongqing municipality, Shanxi, Hubei and Hunan provinces, the line serves as the main artery for the transmission of new energy from west to east.

The Gansu Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Co., Ltd. is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 1,249.72 kilometers of lines and 2,394 base towers in Gansu province.
