Ministry announces support for rural reform pilot projects

China's Ministry of Finance said on Thursday this year, central finance will continue to support the implementation of pilot trials for comprehensive rural reforms and the start of new ones by summarizing experiences gained in earlier processes.

In a circular issued on the ministry's website about the specific measures and requirements for this year's comprehensive rural reform, it was confirmed this year the five provinces of Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Guangdong and Sichuan, all of whom have large rural populations, are eligible to apply for two pilots. Other provinces and regions can adopt one pilot plan at most.

The ministry stressed the regulation of fiscal funds shall be strictly tightened in the process, and the mechanism of the negative list shall be implemented and constantly improved in piloted counties in light of local conditions.
