Logistics reports steady Q1 growth
China's logistics sector reported steady growth in the first quarter of 2023, according to an industry report. Social logistics rose 3.9 percent year-on-year to 84.3 trillion yuan ($12.21 trillion) in this period, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing said. From January to March, the logistics for industrial products climbed 3 percent year-on-year.
Indonesia HSR project reaches milestone
The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway in Indonesia, part of which is being built by China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd, has completed preliminary commissioning on its engine car station. As the first HSR in Indonesia as well as in Southeast Asia, the $8 billion, 142.3-kilometer railway is Chinese HSR's first systemic footprint overseas. The No 507 temporary repair garage and the No 511 dynamic inspection garage have ended commissioning for their main equipment, showing all technical indicators are normal and making way for the joint commissioning and test of the entire line. Also as a signature link of the Belt and Road Initiative, the HSR will have four newly built railway stations and one engine car station.
