Firms 'should align with African market'
Chinese State builders working in Africa are being advised to align with the local market and find market gaps, rather than crowding out others, so as to win trust and support of local consumers. In a video lecture, employees of Municipal Engineering of China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd were told by a Chinese expert on African studies that by providing high-quality services, Chinese enterprises can elevate their corporate image, which would help them seize chances in local markets, especially high-end market. Professor He Wenping briefed the Chinese employees on better development in Africa ahead of the 10th anniversary of the inception of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Renewable energy capacity surges in Q1
China's installed clean energy capacity registered 11.7 percent year-on-year growth to about 380 million kilowatts in the first quarter of the year, data from the National Energy Administration showed. Solar power capacity stood at about 430 million kW, up 34 percent year-on-year. The country's installed power generation capacity totaled about 2.62 billion kW, up more than 9 percent year-on-year.
