In an interview with Reuters ahead of his visit to the US next week, Yoon said his government has been exploring how to help defend and rebuild Ukraine. It was the first time that Seoul suggested a willingness to provide weapons to Ukraine, more than a year after ruling out the possibility of lethal aid.

270 killed as conflict rages into 5th day

Fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, in Sudan has killed about 270 people and wounded more than 2,600 as of Tuesday. Violent clashes resumed on Tuesday morning. The RSF announced on Tuesday that it accepted an international initiative for a cease-fire with the Sudanese army for 24 hours for humanitarian reasons. But the Sudanese army said that it was "not aware of any coordination with the mediators and the international community about a truce".
