The Paulson Institute, in partnership with Tsinghua University, announced on Tuesday the 2023 Paulson Prize for Sustainability is accepting applications until June 30.

Entities registered in the Chinese mainland, including businesses, institutions, social organizations and NGOs, are invited to submit projects demonstrating ingenuity and leadership in sustainable development. Applications are available at PaulsonInstitute.org/prize.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Paulson Prize. With a new Global Biodiversity Framework agreed upon at COP 15 in December 2022 and the ongoing implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change, there is a growing demand for innovative solutions that lead to a net-zero and nature-positive future, the institute said.

"This year, we are excited to celebrate our 10-year journey by bringing the Prize network together through a special series of inspiring dialogues, events, and engagements with Prize alumni," said Deborah Lehr, vice-chairman and executive director of the Paulson Institute.

"In the months and years ahead, the Paulson Prize will continue to advance its unique role as a platform to bring market players together to take their sustainability solutions to the next level."

As the Paulson Prize for Sustainability celebrates its 10th anniversary, Tsinghua University said it would continue to collaborate closely with the institute to enhance the global influence of the prize and further promote China's innovation and leadership in the field of sustainable development.

"Together, we aim to contribute China's strength to solving global issues and advancing sustainable development around the world," said Yang Bin, vice-president of Tsinghua.
