China will evaluate the necessity of maintaining anti-dumping and countervailing tariffs on Australian barley imports starting April 15, with the assessment expected to conclude within a year, said the Ministry of Commerce in an online statement.
This move came after China and Australia recently reached a consensus to resolve their dispute over Australia's barley exports to China.
The commerce ministry said that interested parties may provide feedback and evidence on the review within the next 20 days, and the assessment should be finalized by April 15, 2024.
China decided to impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Australian barley on May 18, 2020, which was to be implemented for a period of five years starting from May 19, 2020.
