The first two volumes of the selected works of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, published by the People's Publishing House, were made available nationwide on Monday.

The two books were compiled by the Party Literature Editing Committee of the CPC Central Committee. They record the historical process of the CPC Central Committee, with Xi at the core, uniting and leading the entire Party and people of all ethnic groups across the country in ushering in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Xinhua News Agency reported.

In a scientific way, the books summarize the experiences of the Party in theoretical innovation during the process of leading the people in completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and forging ahead on the new journey of advancing national rejuvenation through the Chinese path toward modernization.

They also reflect the new achievements of the Party's theoretical innovation in its efforts to apply the fundamental principles of Marxism in the Chinese context.

The publication of the two books has profound and far-reaching significance, Xinhua said.

The two volumes consist of 146 items from important works by Xi from November 2012 to October 2022, including speeches, instructions and directives, some of which are being made public for the first time.
