Cross-border tourism cooperation begins
A flight carrying tourists from 15 Mongolian travel agencies arrived in Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, tourist groups organized by Manzhouli-based travel agents took flights to Ulaanbaatar in neighboring Mongolia on the same day.
It marked the official opening of cross-border tourism between China and Mongolia this year.
Over the years, the Manzhouli municipal bureau of culture, sports, tourism, radio, film and television has expanded tourism exchanges and cooperation with Mongolia. Travel agencies have established a cooperation platform involving a special tourism route and innovative tourism product development — brands, joint cross-border marketing and improvements to tourism services.
Over the next few days, travel agencies from Ulaanbaatar are expected to gain a deeper understanding of Manzhouli's cultural and tourism resources through visits and seminars. They will talk with Manzhouli's travel agencies about cross-border tourism cooperation.
