Rescue and maintenance workers from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in Hunan province, practiced rescue techniques recently on a steep tram to hone their ability to respond to emergencies.

The steel cable of the Tianzishan tram is 2,084 meters long, with an altitude gain of 692 meters from bottom to top. It provides tourists with spectacular views of the canyons and peaks.

As a renowned tourist city, Zhangjiajie saw an obvious recovery in the tourism market since beginning of this year. Four major scenic spots in the city received about 1.35 million tourist visits as of Feb 28, up 272 percent year-on-year, according to local authorities.
