China's whole process people's democracy best serves the people's interest, according to Jan Robert Go, assistant professor for political science and associate dean at the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy in the University of the Philippines.

Go said that, unlike the Western liberal democratic system which tends to solely focus on the election process, China recognizes the "entirety of the democratic process".

He said China's whole process people's democracy is "consultative democracy" and encourages the people's involvement in decision and policymaking.
