Courier sector index at 265, up 1.5% in Jan
China's courier sector expanded in January, a monthly index showed. China's Express Delivery Development Index for January came in at 265, up 1.5 percent year-on-year, according to the State Post Bureau. The sub-index for the development scale grew 19.4 percent year-on-year. China's express delivery sector handled about 410 million parcels during the Jan 21-27 Spring Festival holiday, almost double the last pre-COVID holiday level in 2019.
Nonferrous metals see steady 2022 growth
China's nonferrous metal industry saw stable performance last year with growing production, revenue and profits, said the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. Last year, China produced over 67.74 million metric tons of 10 common types of nonferrous metals, up 4.3 percent from 2021, said the association. The value-added output of major companies, each with an annual business revenue of at least 20 million yuan ($2.95 million), rose 5.2 percent last year. Major companies recorded a combined revenue of nearly 8 trillion yuan last year, up 10.5 percent year-on-year, with total profits reaching 331.5 billion yuan.
