Thousands of Texans endure winter storm with no power, heat

Winter storms gripped southern US states this week, and nearly 430,000 customers in Texas lacked power as of Thursday morning. The outages were most widespread in Austin, the state capital, where more than 156,000 customers were without electricity and heat for more than 24 hours, according to data from PowerOutage.
