8 dead in construction site fire near Sevastopol

MOSCOW - Eight people were killed and two other injured as a result of a fire at a temporary accommodation site for construction workers near Sevastopol, RIA Novosti reported Thursday.

The fire broke out in the early morning and covered an area of 200 square meters, it reported, citing local emergency services.

There were 185 workers at the site when the fire broke out in the two-story building. A criminal case had been launched into the incident.
