EV charging points see rapid expansion
The number of charging points for electric vehicles in China grew at a rapid pace in 2022, official data showed. The country had 5.21 million charging points at the end of 2022, including over 2.59 million built in 2022, said Tian Yulong, chief engineer at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The country had 1,973 battery swapping stations at the end of 2022, including 675 built in 2022, he said, adding that China had over 10,000 power battery recycling service outlets at the end of 2022. The rapid growth in charging facilities is in line with the country's booming new energy vehicle sector.
Anhui posts record high foreign trade
Anhui province saw its foreign trade hit a record 753.06 billion yuan ($111 billion) in 2022, said Hefei Customs. Of the total, Anhui's exports hit 476.37 billion yuan, while imports totaled 276.69 billion yuan. In 2022, Anhui's foreign trade with the European Union and the United States, the province's top two trading partners, reached 102.53 billion yuan and 101.53 billion yuan, up 13 percent and 12.8 percent year-on-year, respectively. The province exported mechanical and electrical products worth 299.49 billion yuan, up 18.5 percent year-on-year.
