China's first government-backed national transportation platform has completed a closed beta test and will soon go online to offer services such as ride-hailing, Beijing Daily reported on Wednesday.

The platform, named Qiangguo Jiaotong, is soon to be available on Xuexi Qiangguo, a mobile app run by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Beijing Daily said.

Qiangguo Jiaotong will cover services such as ride-hailing, freight, water transportation and shipping in the future. It is jointly built by Xuexi Qiangguo and relevant government departments, Beijing Daily reported.

Beijing Daily reported that the platform will first offer a ride-hailing service, which has already integrated the transportation capacities of more than 10 ride-hailing companies. In the future, the capacity connected to the platform is expected to account for more than 90 percent of the total market capacity, Beijing Daily quoted information obtained from the Qiangguo Jiaotong project.

The Qiangguo Jiaotong platform will also be connected to WeChat, Alipay, Douyin and other platforms after its launch, so that people can enjoy safe and convenient digital transportation services, Beijing Daily reported.

The Qiangguo Jiaotong platform will also provide customized travel services for employees of key central, state-owned enterprises and other enterprises and institutions to better protect user data and personal privacy, Beijing Daily reported.

Meanwhile, it will offer special ride-hailing services for senior citizens to help them hail cars via a phone call.

And to avoid disorderly expansion and data security problems that once existed in the car-hailing industry, the Qiangguo Jiaotong platform will only offer services one by one, and the service offered online must be very mature, Beijing Daily reported.
