Great Wall Motors sold 173,180 vehicles last year in overseas markets, up 21.28 percent from 2021, as China's largest SUV maker stepped up efforts to go global.

The Baoding, Hebei province-based carmaker's accumulated overseas sales have exceeded the milestone of 1 million units, said the company.

Its sales figure in overseas markets is expected to grow further in 2023, as the company continues its globalization campaign with its competitive edge in new energy vehicles.

The carmaker said it will launch at least 10 NEVs this year.

Globally, Great Wall Motors sold 1.06 million vehicles in 2022, with the majority coming from its brand Haval. Its sales target for this year stands at 1.6 million units.
