More than 2 billion parcels delivered during New Year's Day holiday

More than 2.13 billion parcels were delivered in China during the three-day New Year's Day holiday which ended on Monday, the State Post Bureau of China said on Tuesday.
The sector has maintained recovery while operating safely, the national regulator said.
Some 1.06 billion parcels were collected, a year-on-year increase of 15.2 percent and about 1.07 billion parcels were delivered, an increase of 11.5 percent over the same period last year.
The bureau has mandated the implementation of optimized epidemic control measures to ensure smooth, safe operations.
It has also pledged to ensure that logistics are unimpeded and is trying its best to maintain the normal operation of delivery network.
The bureau has tasked major delivery companies with making every effort to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of medical supplies and daily necessities.
With the Spring Festival holiday about to begin, the sector has begun to prepare for the increase in holiday shopping. This year's festival begins on Jan 22.
Companies have banded together to share resources and upgrade services to ensure uninterrupted deliveries during the holiday to meet customer demand, stabilize industrial and supply chains, and promote economic and social development.
