GUANGZHOU -- With a focus on trade digitalization, the 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Fair for Trade in Services opened in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai on Thursday.

The exhibition area of this year's event totals 25,000 square meters, covering three major themes: the comprehensive urban area, the digital trade area and the living services area.

One main forum and seven specialized sub-forums will be held during the fair, where participants will discuss hot issues in digital trade, cross-border e-commerce, intelligent manufacturing, traditional Chinese medicine services and service outsourcing.

Huang Zhihao, mayor of Zhuhai, said that as one of the earliest special economic zones in China, Zhuhai has always been committed to promoting high-level institutional opening-up and the high-quality development of trade in services.

Digital technology has blurred the boundaries of traditional goods and services, and digital trade is becoming a new driving force for the growth of the global trade in services, said Yi Xiaozhun, former WTO deputy director-general.
