Harbin Ice and Snow World opens for trial run

The 24th Harbin Ice and Snow World opened for its trial operations on Saturday, welcoming the first visitors to the wonderland in Harbin, Heilongjiang province.

In the 810,000-square-meter amusement park, which combines ice, snow, sound and lights, visitors can appreciate more than 100 groups of artworks made of more than 150,000 cubic meters of ice and snow.

Tourists can participate in many activities, including a 500-meter ice slide, the longest one built at the park to date.

A giant Ferris wheel in the shape of a snowflake has been built to provide a unique experience in a dazzling world after dark.

During the trial period from Saturday to Wednesday, tickets will cost 200 yuan ($29).
