The construction of the world's largest factory to produce photovoltaic devices entered a new stage recently with the completion of concrete pouring in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Longi Green Energy Technology Co, a global leader in solar power, is building the plant, whose annual capacity will be 46 gigawatts of silicon ingots and wafers, 30 GW of monocrystalline cells and 5 GW of high efficiency modules in Ejin Horoo Banner of Ordos, the company said.
With a total investment of 39 billion yuan ($5.48 billion), the project is expected to begin production in June 2023 and reach capacity by the end of 2024. Its annual operating revenue is expected to reach 70 billion yuan.
