Miao people celebrate New Year in Guizhou

Oct 31 was New Year's Day for the Miao ethnic group, and Miao people in Danzhai Wanda Village in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, Guizhou province, held a long-table banquet to celebrate.

As the most important festival among the Miao people, it is a time to celebrate the harvest, remember ancestors and show gratitude to nature. In 2018, the Miao New Year was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.
