Let's get digital

Reflection of new realities
The fair's Pioneer Zone features works by some of the field's most promising young talents, among them deconstruction artist Frank Nitty 3000. Before the fair, Nitty had made his mark on social media with surrealist portraits that dissect the faces of his subjects. Part of his Digital Art Fair offering, The Argonaut, depicts a figure that could be a throwback to Leonardo da Vinci's the Vitruvian Man. The figure responds to the movements of the beholder along the plane parallel to the piece. Nitty melds 2D collage with motion graphics and sensors. His use of a humanoid figure juggling multiple editions of his own head reflects his ambition to create unsettling forms. Yet, he says, his purpose is neither to shock nor entertain but to push the boundaries of perception of human forms.
